A green product going greener – WPL launches the new generation of rainwater harvesting in the UK
Friday, 06 July 2007

A new rainwater harvesting system, incorporating the new Carat tank, was recently launched by WPL Ltd at the Grand Designs Show in June in London and the BBC Good Homes at the NEC and the Homebuilding and Renovating Show in Newbury.  WPL ltd is delighted to launch the latest product in their rainwater harvesting range providing an even greener solution to rainwater harvesting.

The country is talking about global warming and rainwater harvesting has been established as an efficient tool to help saving water and to support the fight against the looming water shortages. Rainwater harvesting provides water during hosepipe bans, adds value to the property, particularly with the Homebuyers Pack coming into practice in June, and pays for itself over the years. The market is developing fast and the UK is learning from countries like Germany who have over thirty years of experience in the field.

The Carat tank has been developed by the German company Otto Graf GmbH and is the latest product in Europe’s best selling rainwater harvesting range. Made from Duralen, a new material mix solely created for Graf, the tank is highly robust with a unique life expectancy and can still be recycled easily. The Carat tank is available as a garden or home system, both being twice as energy efficient as any other available system in the UK. Aimed at the self build market, the Carat can be installed easily, supported by a twisting turret which can be manually adapted in length to fit the depth of the excavation.

Long lasting, easily recyclable and highly energy efficient with a low carbon footprint due to stack ability during transport, this rainwater harvesting solution is a green product going greener.
