Balfour Beatty plc, the international engineering, construction and services group announces the merger of its two utility operating businesses, Balfour Beatty Utilities and Balfour Beatty Power Networks with immediate effect.

The new business, Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions, will be the largest multi-utility solutions provider in the UK, well placed to respond to the fast changing markets in which the business operates.  Also, it will be one of the largest operating companies in the Balfour Beatty Group with turnover in excess of £600 million per annum.

Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions works for most of the major utility companies across the electricity, water and gas markets in the UK, along with selected overseas markets.
