Dwr Cymru starts work on new treatment works

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water is starting work on the construction of a new wastewater treatment works in Amlwch. The £5 million scheme represents a significant investment by the utility company in the wastewater network to help improve its performance in the Amlwch and Llaneilian areas.

 

The work will take place in two areas and involves the construction of new pumping stations at Llaneilian and Amlwch, together with the creation of a new wastewater treatment works at Amlwch. Nearly 2.5km of pipeline will also be installed to transfer flows from the Llaneilian pumping station to the treatment works.

 

The scheme is due to be completed in April 2009.

 

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water’s  spokesperson Clara Hughes said: “Welsh Water are carrying out essential work to upgrade the area’s wastewater network which will deliver significant environmental benefits to the area. “
