EFRA Committee ends climate change inquiry
Wednesday, 29 October 2008

The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Efra) Committee has decided not to continue with its inquiry into Climate change: International climate policy post-2012 , following the creation on 3 October of a new Department of Energy and Climate Change.

Among the responsibilities of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) that passed to the new Department were those relating to climate change. The Committee's task is to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of Defra on behalf of the House.  Given the change in its remit, the Committee has now agreed not to proceed further with the inquiry. The written evidence received to date has been sent to the House of Commons Library. Further details about the inquiry can be found at: http://www.parliament.uk/parliamentary_committees/environment__food_and_rural_affairs/efra_climate_change_post_2012.cfm
