New amendments to the Government's Planning Bill have been laid in Parliament to strengthen the scrutiny of national policy statements by the House of Lords, and tackle climate change.

Balfour Beatty’s latest management statement covering the period 29 June to 3 November 2008 says that trading and cash generation has continued to be strong since the half-year in line with previously announced expectations, based on its position in infrastructure markets which provide secure long-term income streams.
