Scottish Water progresses Bo'ness flooding project

Scottish Water is progressing with an important environmental improvement project in Bo’ness, which will help reduce the risk of flooding in the Corbiehall area.

Contractors for Scottish Water have started the £300,000 first phase of the project to improve our waste water infrastructure in the area and address the historical flooding issue.

The first phase of the work, which is expected to be completed by mid-March, involves the upsizing of the local waste water network at Corbiehall Park. This includes the construction of a shaft and associated pipework and manholes to divert flows and by-pass the existing manholes which cause the sewer at Corbiehall to overflow instorm conditions.

The first phase of the project, which is being carried out for Scottish Water by Amey Black & Veatch, also involves increasing capacity of the system with the installation of a new pipe and the construction of a new sewer north of the railway line and three new manholes.

The second phase of the project, which is being investigated and planned at the moment, will further reduce the impact of flooding in the area.
