On World Water Day, 22 March 2010  the UNESCO Centre for Water Law, Policy and Science at the University of Dundee will be hosting an interactive online event – a World Water Day workshop focused on Hydrology, Environment, Life and Policy (HELP) river basins in Scotland.

Floods Minister Huw Irranca Davies visited a village in Gloucestershire yesterday to see how flood defences have been bolstered. Deerhurst, near Tewkesbury, was badly affected in summer 2007 when the River Severn burst its banks, flooding over half the homes in the village.
 
Defra give go-ahead for Japanese Knotweed killer

Wildlife Minister Huw Irranca-Davies gave the go-ahead today for the release of an insect, called a psyllid, to stop the spread of the non-native invasive plant Japanese Knotweed, a devastating plant which costs the UK economy over £150 million a year to control and clear.
