Ofwat launches consultation on forward work programme

Ofwat,water industry regulator for England and Wales, has launched a new consultation on its upcoming forward work programme from 2010/11 to 2012/13.
Ofwat’s forward work programme for the coming financial year is focussed on the strategic projects it is planning, together with indicative information on the work it will be carrying out in the following two years. It also sets out the resources needed to carry out its programme .Planned projects include:
Future scenarios – including climate change
Retail market reform
Charging and metering
Sustainable drainage
Accounting separation
Regulatory compliance
Future price limits
Upstream market reform
Ofwat is also planning to publish a consultation paper on regulating large projects effectively, for example the Thames Tideway tunnel, in light of the provisions contained in the Flood and Water Management Bill currently making its way through Parliament.
