Scottish Water has awarded Veolia Water & Solutions Technologies (VWS) UK the Framework Agreement for the supply of membrane filtration plants for their Q&SIIIA Capital Investment Programme.
VWS were selected as a supplier on their ability to offer a competitive solution, based on their experience with all membrane types and configurations. The agreement involves the design, manufacture, supply and commissioning of nanofiltration plants for potable water treatment, comprising typically of pre-treatment filtration, membranes, physical and chemical cleaning and chemical storage, neutralisation filtration and MCC & Control Systems.
VWS in conjunction with Scottish Water Solutions, the delivery arm of Scottish Water, worked through development stages to fully satisfy programme demand, which resulted in standard design solutions being agreed which incorporate both spiral and tubular membrane technology.
VWS, a subsidiary of Veolia Water, is one of the world’s major designers of technological solutions and constructors of water treatment facilities. With over 7,700 employees in 55 countries, Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies recorded revenue of approximately £1.6 billion in 2007.
