The Consumer Council for Water Central and Eastern Committee will be discussing how water companies plan to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, when it meets on Wednesday 29 October in Milton Keynes.
Members of the public are being encouraged to join the meeting to raise any other issues of interest or concern. Representatives from Severn Trent Water, Anglian Water, South Staffordshire Water, Cambridge Water, Tendring Hundred Water and Essex & Suffolk Water will be on hand to answer questions.
Sir James Perowne, Chair of the Consumer Council for Water Central and Eastern, said: “The water industry is responsible for about 4 million tons of carbon emission equivalent each year, and growing. During the meeting we will discuss water companies’ plans to turn this trend around.
“These public meetings are one way in which we can highlight consumers’ concerns, challenge companies, and take meaningful action to satisfy consumers.”
The meeting will take place between 11:00 am and 3:30 pm on Wednesday 29 October at the Jury’s Inn, Midsummer Boulevard, Milton Keynes MK9 2HP.
