The PAS55 standard has been awarded to Wessex Water for good management of its assets. The aim of PAS55 is to ensure that a business manages its assets in a way that is totally consistent from the boardroom through to day-to-day maintenance work.
Steve Arthur, asset programme manager, Wessex Water said: “Achieving this standard is the result of 18 months hard work focussed on ensuring consistency in every aspect of our operations, from dealing with burst water mains to building new sewage treatment works.”
External auditors, Lloyds Register, who are global experts in PAS55 and standards of this type oversaw the accreditation to ensure Wessex Water met its exacting standards and rigorous guidelines.
Wessex Water sees the success as strengthening its ability to deliver excellent levels of customer service against the backdrop of challenges such as climate change and the stresses this can place on water infrastructure.
