Mouchel has been awarded a  contract worth up to £1.3 million to deliver a Water Efficency Audits programme to Northumbrian Water customers in its Essex and Suffolk operating areas.

The services which will be provided in 1 yearly periods include:

• Compiling and sending out letters to introduce the project;
• Making appointments for delivery or installation of the products;
• Delivery of the products and retrofitting plumbing devices where selected, ensuring that the chosen products are suitable and substituting alternative products where appropriate;
• Remedial visits;
• Monitoring productivity;
• Data collection and reporting;
• Collection of water consumption data to assess water savings.

The project will run for a period of around 7 months and a further 3-month period to complete remedial actions and to remedy any issues arising from the audits, data analysis or final report.

Northumbrian Water have estimated that approx 15,000 letters would need to be sent in order to achieve the target 3 000 audits.

Under the contract Mouchel will be required to design a unique database information to hold customer details  and data collected for the project  - data Integrity is regarded as key to the success of the project  by Northumbrian Water.

Mouchel were one of two companies who bid for the work.
