Thames Water has awarded a contract for the supply of natural gas to Corona Energy Retail 2 with an estimated value of between £18 million to £25 million.
The water company was seeking to establish a single framework agreement for the supply of natural gas to Daily and Non Daily Meters for sites operated by Thames Water in the south east region of England.
Estimated annual requirements for both Daily and Non Daily Meters had a combined annual estimated consumption of 100 GWh – which could increase or decrease by 15 %.
Under the contract Thames Water's aim was to establish a partnership to maximise effectiveness of commodity buying and integrating data from AMR for operational efficiency and billing accuracy. Thames appointed Purenegy Limited to assist with the project when the contract originally went out to tender.
The framework agreement starts on 1st April for an initial term of 3 years, with 2 further two year extension options.
