Dwr Cymru Welsh Water tenders £10m instrumentation and control equipment contract

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water has gone out to tender with a contract for the replacement of its Data Provision Loggers and PRV Controllers assets for leakage control and network management purposes.

The new agreement will supply existing units for both the Loggers, which are used for leakage and network monitoring, clean and waste, and the PRV Controllers, which are used for control and network management.

The water company is also planning to adopt a replace on failure strategy equipment - the new contract provider's equipment will be used to replace failed equipment in the first instance, as well as target an asset age as a proactive replacement strategy.

The successful supplier will also be required to support externally hosted data transfer protocols, with data hosted off-site at the suppliers' premises, and transferred every 30 minutes to DCWW servers. The data will then be hosted in the DCWW internal servers for onward processing.

Welsh Water will also have a requirement for field management support, including installation, maintenance and site visits for its Waste requirement.

The contract, which is divided into Lots, has an estimated value of £10 million.
