Wessex Water tenders £1.2m data storage services contract

Wessex Water has gone out to tender with a contract for data storage services worth an estimated £1.2 million.

The contract covers the provision of storage and backup services for the following two Lots:

Lot 1: Enterprise Storage Services

Lot 2: Enterprise Backup, Recovery and Archive Services.

The water company’s current storage and backup services are based on a number of technologies distributed across key sites within the YTL Utilities (UK) estate. This includes NetApp, IBM, HP and Brocade technologies that provide various Storage Area Network and Direct Attached Storage services and backup and recovery capabilities.
