Anglian Water tenders £385m electricity supply contract

Anglian Water has gone out to tender with a contract for the supply and billing of half hourly metered electricity worth an estimated £385 million.

The water company is looking for suppliers to provide a half hourly metered electricity supply on a flexible purchasing basis, together with a number of other related value added options that may be of interest to Anglian Water. Estimated total quantity of electricity required is a total volume of around 550 GWh to approximately 1035 sites across the Anglian Water region.

The contract is for an initial five year term with extension options that could take it to a total contract term of seven years.

Anglian Water is looking at inviting between 4 and 12 suppliers to take part in the procurement process – the water company said it would be unfeasible for Anglian Water to manage the supply of electricity through more than one contract.

Bidders will need to be registered with OFGEM as a licensed UK Electricity supplier in the categories of Domestic & Non-Domestic or Non-Domestic.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 18th September 2017 – click here to access the tender documentation.
