Thames Water tenders £240m maintenance & engineering services contract

Thames Water has gone out to tender with a major framework contract for general maintenance and engineering services with an estimated total value of £240 million.

The procurement covers a broad and diverse range of reactive maintenance services for a wide range of assets across the whole of the water company’s estate.

The framework contract is being tendered in the following 8 Lots:

  • Lot 1: Mechanical (conveyors, gearboxes, drive shafts, valves, fabrication and workshop: tanks, pipework, access equipment) - £120 million
  • Lot 2: Electrical (starters, control systems) - £67 million
  • Lot 3: Compressors and Blowers - £16 million
  • Lot 4: Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) - £8 million
  • Lot 5: Screens - £16 million
  • Lot 6: Trunk Sewers - £8 million
  • Lot 7: Lagging & Insulation - £4 million
  • Lot 8: Generators - £2.5 million

Thames is looking to appoint up to 12 suppliers to the framework - any agreement awarded would be for an initial duration of 3 years, with options to extend up to a maximum overall term of 8 years.
