Yorkshire Water is looking for a supplier who can propose options to maximise the value of an area of land on an operational site at its Knostrop Sewage Treatment Works (STW) in Leeds.
All bids will be assessed based on the overall value to the water company
Yorkshire Water said the potential development options would provide value to through one or more of the following options:
- Land rent,
- Electricity off-take,
- Treat sewage screenings – 6000 tonnes per annum,
The area of land in question measures 1.29 ha (3.20 acres) - bidders will be able to use some or all of this and also utilise the land for other revenue streams, subject to approval by the utility. Independent vehicle access is available from the Knostrop operational STW..
Any potential company will be responsible for obtaining all permits and permissions to build and operate their solution.
The contract period will start in April 2019 and end in March 2054 - the length of the lease and any renewal options will be agreed during the award process.
