Southern Water has discontinued the tender process to procure a £6 million information technology services tender.
The water company went out to tender for the provision of Data Centre space and the related services (energy, cooling, connectivity and physical security) necessary to house and provide an operating environment for physical computing infrastructure from 2 separate locations.
Southern Water was seeking to move their data centre from its HQ in Durrington, Worthing, into these two co-located facilities.
The Co-Location Facilities contract was intended to run for an initial term of 5 years, with an option to extend by a further period, or periods, up to 10 years (15 years total).
Southern Water has not provided any detailed comment on the discontinuation – saying it had decided not to award any further contracts based on the periodic indicative notice on the grounds that “no tenders or requests to participate were received or all were rejected.”
