The Environment Agency has awarded a number of contracts for its Marine and Coastal Works Framework worth an estimated £220 million in total.
The Agency has appointed 5 marine and coastal suppliers to provide services – either directly or via their supply chains - to deliver a major programme of capital investment and improvement works for its marine and coastal flood risk management defence assets.
Lot 1: Major Marine and Coastal works — project values £5m to £50m
Lot 2: General Marine and Coastal works — project values under £5m
Both lots will have national coverage.
At the Environment Agency's option, the contractors may also be required to provide and deliver operation and maintenance services for coastal and marine assets falling within the Environment Agency Programme.
VBA Joint Venture Ltd, Van Oord UK Ltd and BAM New Wave Solutions JV have been appointed to Lot 1 for Major Marine And Coastal Works, 3 of 4 companies in the bidding for the work.
VBA Joint Venture Ltd and Van Oord UK Ltd have also been awarded contracts for Lot 2 General Marine and Coastal Works, together with BAM Nuttall Ltd and JBA Bentley Ltd. A total of four companies were in the bidding for Lot 2.
