Dwr Cymru Welsh Water has gone out to with a contract for web development, design and support services – the utility has an ambitious plan to transform the way in which customers interact with DCC which will deliver a substantial reduction in operating costs.
Focusing on key themes such as digitalisation, automation, web service, insight and vulnerability supported by a drive to enhance employee skills and engagement, Welsh Water has a clear vision and an understanding of capabilities needed to support and deliver the change.
The water company is looking to:
- develop a digital platform across all processes, allowing customers to manage their accounts directly
- reduce human error and inefficient processes through automation and robotic technologies
- increase the use of data to develop timely insight that can be integrated with DCC's core systems
- improve quality of customer data DCC holds in the core systems
- maintain ongoing support for low income and vulnerable customers.
DCC is seeking to award a contract up to 6 years with a single service provider for the contract - scope will include:
- the production release of new web developments to include support services, knowledge transfer and any appropriate deployment warranty period
- DCC’s business and technical requirements for a new website design and development project
- the provision of minor enhancements amendments
- support of Sitecore in the Microsoft Azure Cloud
- the transition from the current support arrangements
The initial contract term is 3 years with an option to extend up a maximum of 3 years at 1 yearly intervals.
