Anglian Water has awarded two separate contracts for sewage treatment services to develop and design an all-in-one mobile sludge thickening solution in collaboration with other project partners.

The partners will manufacture a fleet of vehicles which can be deployed to multiple sites across the Anglian Water region to reduce sludge volumes hauled between sewage and sludge treatment sites.

The contract for sludge thickening process equipment covers design and supply of the sludge thickening process plant and ancillary process equipment, together with the design and supply of associated control equipment.

A separate contract for trailer assembly covers design layout, including chassis, sub-frame and bodywork, and ancillary process equipment.

No information has been provided on the successful suppliers. Anglian Water has also opted not to disclose the contract award value on the basis that to do so was “likely to prejudice fair competition between economic operators and/or would prejudice the legitimate commercial interests of the successful economic operator due to the nature of the tender and how the commercial model under the contract was constructed.”
