On behalf of the eight existing Northamptonshire Councils, Milton Keynes Council is seeking input from interested suppliers via open early engagement on a procurement proposal in the early stage of development for the Northamptonshire Strategic Infrastructure Plan.
The Northamptonshire partners are creating a Strategic Infrastructure Plan for Northamptonshire. The Plan will seek to address infrastructure needs up to 2050, reflecting the areas of the proposed North Northamptonshire and West Northamptonshire unitary councils as local government is reformed in the area, and the particular responsibilities and areas of other service providers.
In April 2021 all eight current local authorities will be replaced with two new unitary councils - one serving the North of the County and one the West of the County.
The Plan is to address:
- Water, sewerage, power and telecoms (digital)
- Green and blue (open space and biodiversity)
- Flood defences
- Waste
- Transport
- Healthcare
- Education
Milton Keynes is using the engagement to judge interest from potential suppliers in the procurement for a range of services, including:
- Geographic information systems (GIS or equivalent)
- Mathematical or forecasting software package
- Urban areas mapping
- Urban planning
- Software programming and consultancy
- Design consultancy services
- Urban environmental development planning
