Scottish Water tenders £272m reinstatement contract to support capital investment/maintenance and operational programmes

Scottish Water has gone out to tender with a major reinstatement contract to support its capital investment/maintenance and operational programmes of work worth up to an estimated £272 million in total.

SCOTTISH WATER

The water company is looking to appoint reinstatement contractors to meet a service requirement of 24 hours per day and 7 days and includes emergency and urgent response to all locations in Scotland. Estimated annual contract value is between £18 million to £34 million per year - the estimated total contract value (inc. extensions) is between £144 million to £272 million.

The successful contractors, who will be allocated regional areas, will be required to carry out compliant road reinstatements for the following areas:

  • Planned and reactive road reinstatements/surfacing works to supplement capital alliance and contractor partners existing capabilities and resources.
  • Reactive reinstatements for the operational part of the business — this will predominantly be the urgent/emergency requirement.
  • Ironworks and fire hydrant programmes — these will be passed to the reinstatement contractor as urgent, medium risk or low risk classification.
  • Coring programme.
  • Defects/remedial work.
  • Consequential damages.
  • Other associated reinstatement work — potholes, access roads, car parks, etc.

The requirement to meet operational response times will form an essential part of the contract.

The initial six year contract term will run from from 2021-2027 with the option to extend for a further 2 years from 2027-2029.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 17th July 2020 – click here to access the tender documentation.
