The Highland Council has gone out to tender with a marine construction works contract for the Uig Harbour redevelopment on the Isle of Skye worth an estimated £36 million.

Subject to funding availability, the proposed infrastructure improvement works at Uig Harbour will include a range of construction activities, including:
- widening of existing berthing structure
- relocation of existing waiting shelter
- widening of existing approachway
- new fendering to existing berthing structure and widened approachway
- replacement of existing linkspan
- dredging of seabed
- reinstatement of boat steps
- concrete repairs to existing pier head and approachway structure
- upgraded electrical, street lighting and water services
- extended marshalling area with reclamation from the sea with imported rock fill, rock armour, paving, lighting, drainage, road markings and other ancillary works
