Southern Water has awarded an AMP7 contract for building and facilities management services worth an estimated £65 million in total.

The water company said it was seeking to establish a long-term service relationship with a facilities management provider with a strong customer focus when it first went out to tender.
The contract is expected to deliver transformation in the efficiency, effectiveness and value for money of the facilities management services and supply chain across the water company’s estates portfolio.
Engie Services Ltd, one of three suppliers who tendered for the work, has won the contract, which will run for five years with a further three year extension option.
The facilities management provider will support the delivery of the Southern Water’s Water for Life strategy for AMP7 through alignment with the utility’s five transformational programmes.
Services Engie will provide include:
- business continuity management
- health and safety management
- environmental and energy management
- grounds maintenance
- waste management
- FM projects and management
- administration and management of third party FM contracts
The new contract covers FM services which were previously provided through a blend of in-house, bundle soft, security maintenance and multiple (circa 60) outsourced for building maintenance and minor civil/small works projects.
