Scottish Water has gone out to tender with a contract for a Digital Directorate Security Partner worth an estimated £48 million.

The water company has begun the procurement process for an industry leading service delivery model associated with its security services, a blend of both traditional managed detection and response services (MDR) and managed security services (MSS).
Scottish Water is seeking a partner to provide an Advanced Threat Centre (ATC) with a focus on providing advanced services and support for the assessment, management and prevention of cyber security related emergencies, as well as coordination of incident response efforts.
The water company said maturing its capabilities in detection and response to ‘near real-time’, supported by strong threat intelligence is core to its requirements.
Scottish Water said the dhe development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) towards actual real-time response is a future ambition to better address vulnerabilities, detect security issues and resolve before they become a problem, and repel cyber-attacks in a timely and effective response once they have begun.
Initial contract term is 50 month with a further one year extension option.
