The aim of the procurement was to establish a framework which would enable United Utilities to replace, install, receive data from, and maintain its current asset base of flow & pressure loggers.

The water company uses the remote data loggers to monitor the pressure and flow parameters of its water distribution network and to support the firm’s installation programme of this type of equipment throughout the North West Region.

The scope of the current agreement includes the provision of SIM and airtime and the provision of an externally hosted portal to securely manage all UU data.

United Utilities currently has an estate of approximately 4291 flow and 3840 pressure loggers.

The framework was tendered in four separate Lots:

  • Telemetry Data Loggers (Flow, Pressure, Level & spares) & Data Service Provision - £5,125,000
  • Installation of Flow, Pressure level - £340,000
  • Maintenance , Support, Repair, Replacement of Flow, Pressure & Level (Reactive & Proactive) - £3,060,000
  • Supply of Transient Data Loggers & Data Service Provision - £475,000

Wirksworth-based firm Utilitec Services Ltd has been awarded contracts for all four Lots, one of three companies who bid for the work.
