United Utilities has set out its plan to start the procurement process for £14 billion capital procurement spend in AMP8.
The water company has published a Periodic Indicative Notice setting out its intention to go out to tender with a formal contract notice in July 2023.
United Utilities said its AMP8 Capital Programme will be significantly larger than previous AMP periods with spend on future AMPs expected to continue at these levels - and potentially increase further.
The utility will publish Calls for Competition to secure a range of supply chain partners for the delivery of the AMP8 and AMP9 Capital Programme.
To facilitate its delivery strategy United Utilities is seeking long term partners over several procurement activities which will take place over the next 18 months in order to meet the needs of the business.
II.1.5) Estimated total value of the contract is £14 billion.
The water company is providing tender specific documents for key information, including anticipated programme values and dates for upcoming procurements, including;

- Framework-Capital Delivery Partners
- Framwork-Build Only
- Framework-Rainwater Management Solutions
United Utilities will release further information and dates for the following remaining AMP8 Procurement Programme in due course:
- Design Development Partner
- Specialist Modelling
- Commercial PMO and Estimating
Procurement events for the supply of goods for AMP8 will commence from late 2023.
