The water company intends to initiate the tender process to secure the delivery of Water Network Alliance (WNA) Works from 2025 for up to 8 years.

Welsh Water is currently reviewing the precise structure, and nature of works to be undertaken, to both enhance, maintain and extend its current water network assets.

The utility has now issued a Periodic Indicative Notice to launch a market engagement exercise before publication of its contract notice which is currently expected to be in late Spring/early Summer 2024.

Welsh Water said the primary focus of the market engagement is to provide market intelligence and an insight into market availability and that it is not itself a call for tender or a pre-qualification exercise.

The main areas of Works are split into 3 separate Lots as follows:

Lot 1 – Metering & Customer Appointment Programmes (estimated annual value approx. £30 million per annum)

Lot 2 – Network Maintenance (estimated annual value approx. £30 million per annum)

Lot 3 - Mains Rehabilitation &Mains Laying (estimated annual value approx. £40 million per annum)

Welsh Water is inviting suppliers with experience of any of the works / repair services described in the PIN to participate in the market engagement process to register their interest by 29th April 2024 – click here to access the PIN documentation.
