Severn Trent tenders £30 million AMP8 contract for legal services

Severn Trent has gone out to tender with a multi-Lot AMP8 contract for legal services worth an estimated £30 million.

ROYAL COURTS OF JUSTICE 1

The contract is being tendered in the following Lots:

Lot 1. Main Panel - £18,000,000

The main panel will provide the majority of the legal services required including:

  • commercial and innovation
  • competition and procurement law
  • construction
  • data protection
  • environmental, regulatory and health and safety
  • regulatory prosecutions and defences of environmental regulatory offences
  • strategic resource options and direct procurement for customers

 

Lot 2. Business Services Panel - £1,750,000

Provision of legal services to the non-regulated businesses, Severn Trent Green Power Ltd and its subsidiaries, and Severn Trent Services and its subsidiaries. Severn Trent Connect and Midlands Land Portfolio Limited may also use this panel. Range of legal services includes:

  • Commercial
  • Commercial Litigation
  • Construction Contentious and Non Contentious
  • Environmental Compliance
  • Ofgem Regulatory Advice

 

Lot 3. Insurance and Commercial Litigation Panel - £5,000,000

Appointment up to 2 firms for commercial litigation and insurance legal work, namely the provision of insurance legal advice in relation to employers liability, motor claims, personal injury and third-party recoveries and Schedule 12 of the Water Industry Act.

Lot 4. Corporate Panel - £8,250,000

Provision of legal services to any member of the Severn Trent plc group of companies, including:

  • corporate
  • company secretariat
  • tax
  • treasury
  • strategic litigation
  • competition litigation and competition advice

 

Contract term for the services, which may only be provided by firms authorised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority to practice legal services in the United Kingdom, is five years.
