United Utilities has gone out to tender with an AMP8 contract for biosolids delivery and field management services worth an estimated £24.6 million.
The tender covers the collection, transportation and unloading of biosolids from the water company’s wastewater treatment works (WwTW) to customers land (farming land) or alternate end destinations and field management services. The biosolids are stockpiled on delivery by the suppliers utilising ground mats and excavators.
The contract is being tendered in three separate Lots:
Lot 1 North (£3.2 million)
The sites involved in this Lot are Carlisle WwTW and Penrith WwTW
Lot 2 Central (£14.3 million)
The site covered by this Lot is Blackburn WwTW
Lot 3 Additional Transportation Services (£7.1 million)
Initial contract term for the framework isfour years with the option to extend for up to a further four years.
United Utilities is looking to appoint up to seven suppliers to the framework agreement.
