Wessex Water has awarded a multi million pound AMP8 civils support framework agreement for contractors to provide additional civils resources to supplement the capacity of the divisional engineering teams within Wessex Water.
The Agreement is strategically divided into five Lots to cater to the varied needs across different sites, and potable and waste-water infrastructure.
The five Lots are each divided into three sublots corresponding to the North, South and West subregions of the Wessex Water Services Operational Area. The Lots are:
Lot 1 - Site Works. Site work, working under the company's civils management team, including:
- Groundworks
- General civils works
Lot 2 - Mainlaying. Main laying requirements including:
- General civils work including but not limited to reception pits for directional drill
- Mainlaying using different methods and trenchless technologies:
- Pipebursting
- Sliplining
- Open Cut Connections
- Service replacement
Lot 3 - Potable Water Infrastructure. Potable water infrastructure requirements including:
- General civils work
- Repair of leaks on potable water mains
- Installation of potable water meters
- Installation of boundary boxes
- Installation of new communication pipes
- Stop tap repairs
- Installation of valves
- Repair / reinstatement of surface castings
Lot 4 - Wastewater Infrastructure. Wastewater Infrastructure requirements including:
- General civils work and maintenance of waste infrastructure
- Repair/Replace Manhole covers, frames & chambers
- Repair of damaged sewers and sewer collapses
- Installation of Non-Return Valves & Tidal Flaps
- Working under temporary works designs
- Deep Excavations (+ 3m)
- Rising Main Repairs
Lot 5 - Reservoirs. Reservoirs requirements including:
- Pressure washing
- Repair of damaged internal jointing and low cover steel
- Removal of existing paint and re-painting
- Removal and replacement of turf from roof
- Installation of waterproof roof membrane and drainage
- Roof reinstatement
- Concrete works to renew upstands
- New manhole construction
- Refurbishment of existing manhole structures
- Installation of gabion baskets for bank stabilisation
- Repairs to bank
- Modification of pipework
- Updating reservoir hatches/covers
- Installation of new sample lines and refurbishment of existing lines
- Install pathways to sample lines and hatches
- Upgrade or establish access track for turning and operational requirements
- Upgrade and install fences and handrails
Initial contract term of the framework agreement covers the 5 year AMP8 investment period 2025-30, with a further potential extension of up to 3 years into AMP9 2030-35.
Contracts have been awarded to 42 contractors in total.
