Wessex Water is inviting contractors and investors to register their interest in attending an in-person initial industry briefing and launch event scheduled for Tuesday 9th September 2025 to be held in central London for the £414 million (inc VAT) Poole Water Recycling and Transfer SRO.

The Poole Water Recycling and Transfer SRO is one of two major projects in the early planning and development stage as part of wider plans from the West Country Water and Environment Group (WCWE).
The other project is the Cheddar 2 Reservoir Project - South West Water is separately leading this project and has issued a separate invitation to attend the in-person initial industry briefing and launch event also scheduled for Tuesday 9 September at the same location.
Wessex Water is providing advance information to the market of its intent to procure a Competitively Appointed Provider (CAP) to design, build, finance, operate and maintain a new Poole Water Recycling and Transfer centre under the Direct Procurement for Customers (DPC) model.

At this stage, the intended project scope comprises a new 30 Ml/d Water Recycling Centre at Corfe Mullen, together with ancillary associated works including a transfer from the existing Poole Water Recycling Centre to the new Water Recycling Centre at Corfe Mullen, creation of new wetlands, and discharge pipelines.
The estimated capital value of the work is approximately £170 million (excluding VAT) and the estimated total expenditure (inclusive of operating and maintenance costs) is c. £345 million (excluding VAT). Total estimated value including VAT is £414 million.
Wessex Water is planning a programme of market engagement for the Poole Water Recycling and Transfer Project, and is inviting potential investors and contractors to express their interest in participating in a series of engagement activities, starting with an initial industry briefing and launch event scheduled for Tuesday 9th September 2025, to be held at a central London venue.
The programme of engagement is proposed to help develop a wider understanding of the delivery of the Project from both a construction and investment perspective, and presents an opportunity for Wessex Water to engage and collaborate with the market in refining its delivery and commercial model, procurement approach and contracting terms.
In addition the programme of market engagement is seeking to encourage multi-party discussions that will align the Project's development and presentation to market with market trends, taking into account the perspectives of both investors and main works contractors who would form and comprise the CAP.
