University of Edinburgh seeks supply chain interest in upcoming £600k contract for Closed Systems Water Quality Specialist

The University of Edinburgh is seeking supply chain interest in an upcoming contract for a Closed Systems Water Quality Specialist worth an estimated £600,000 (ex VAT).

The University has issued a Prior Information Notice for a tender it plans to publish in August to establish contracting arrangements for the provision of comprehensive water quality sampling, reporting, and chemical treatment supply services.

The services will cover the University estate’s heating, chilled water, condenser water, and steam-generating The contract will support the University in meeting its regulatory obligations and maintaining safe, efficient operation across its closed water systems.

The proposed contract will run for an initial period of two years, with options to extend for up to two additional one-year periods. The requirement will be procured as a single Lot.

The University is invitinginterested suppliers who are members of the Closed Systems Control Association. to register their interest ahead of going out to tender with the contract . All water analysis must be carried out using the analytical services (microbiological and chemical) from UKAS accredited laboratories.

At this stage the procurement strategy for the tendering exercise is still to be finalised and the information provided is indicative and may change.

The University will use Public Contract Scotland (PCS) to issue the contract notice, which links to Public Contracts Scotland-Tender (PCS-T) for the tender documents and process. The University is recommending recommend suppliers to register on both sites, if they have not already done so.
