The water company says the early engagement is aimed at helping to shape a sourcing strategy and procurement process that not only meets its own technical and commercial requirements but is also accessible and appropriate for a broad range of suppliers.

Suppliers who choose to engage will neither be advantaged nor disadvantaged in any future tendering process and participation in the pre-market engagement is entirely optional.

Severrn Trent is asking interested suppliers to complete a premarket engagement form.

In addition to providing their company details, suppliers are also being asked to respond to the following questions:

  • How many CSO Chambers have you installed over the last 12 months?
  • What types and sizes of CSO chambers do you manufacture?
  • What materials are used in the construction (e.g., concrete, HDPE, fiberglass)?
  • Do you use low-carbon or recycled materials in your CSO chambers?
  • Please provide a brief description of the construction method for your chambers.
  • Are the chambers you provide either partially or fully pre-fabricated?
  • What is the average install time for a typical CSO chamber?
  • What is the design life on your chambers, and can you evidence this?
  • Do you have standardised sizing for your CSO chambers? If not, is this something you would consider?
  • Do you have the capability to install a screen into the CSO chamber, prior to it being transported to site?
  • Do you have carbon targets, and are you able to provide carbon assessments for your chambers?
  • Do you conduct carbon audits or lifecycle assessments (LCAs) for your products?
  • How do your design choices contribute to reducing embodied carbon?
  • Are your products certified under any carbon or sustainability standards (e.g., EPD, PAS 2080, ISO 14067)?
