M Group Water has been selected as part of Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water’s Water Network Alliance to provide progressive (planned) and customer reactive metering activity across Wales.

The framework will be delivered over AMP8 and last for five years, with the potential for a further extension of up to three years.

Further building on its longstanding relationship with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, M Group will work as part of the Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water’s Water Network Alliance (WNA) to provide progressive and customer reactive metering activity, critical to helping achieve the clients’ goal of 79%-meter penetration by the end of AMP8.

The scope of works will include establishing new connections for meter installations, addressing private leakage and providing lead replacement as part of Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water’s 2050 Lead Free Wales objective.

M Group Water will use its expertise to continue to trial emerging technology as part of the WNA, while bringing innovation from across the Group. This includes working with local contractors and its supply chain to plan a transition to greener vehicles and EV Charging through consultation with other capabilities within the Group, including M Group Plant & Fleet.

M Group Water looks forward to working with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water and its WNA partners in its shared goal to provide community support across the areas where the contract operates. This will include educational sessions and practical workshops in schools and working alongside local agencies to provide opportunities for job seekers to retrain as operatives and engineers in the water sector.
