Scope of the QUDM covers EPC Substation Construction, Mechanical & Electrical Installations, and Major Civils.
Services National Grid is looking to procure from pre-qualified suppliers via the wide-ranging QUDM include:
- Detailed electrical and civil design
- Construction Design Management (CDM)
- Civil engineering
- Protection and control systems installation, configuration and commissioning
- Mechanical and electrical installation, testing and commissioning
- Detailed engineering and civil design, including primary and protection and control
- Borehole surveys
- Utility surveys
- Development of outline design, associated drawings and technical reporting required for inclusion within the planning and/or consent application and the construction works information
Other services covered include:
Enabling Works: Pre-construction activities required before commencing the construction of main works including highway and service diversions, ground preparation and remediation, flood mitigation works, demolition of structures, soil stripping and removal, bridge construction, obtaining (including submission and payments of fees) of relevant permits and licences and environmental mitigation works.
Foundations & Structures: Design and supply of civil works for overhead line, underground cables, substation or other required works and structures including ground preparation; excavation and disposal of or stock piling for re-use of arisings; creating safe working platforms for piling rigs; installation of any piling and construction of pile caps; supply and installation of all form work, reinforcement, and concrete.
Flood Defence Design & Build: The design and build of flood defences to reduce the risk of flooding to new and existing infrastructure including hydraulic modelling, flood risk assessment, detailed design, drainage, flood defence walls, floodgates, pumping stations.
