Thames Water has awarded an AMP8 contract for the supply, repair, installation and maintenance of sewer depth and event duration monitors – the contract had a total estimated value of £60.24 million when it first went out to tender at the end of April 2025.

Scope of the tender covered the supply of c15,000 - 30,000 additional Sewer Depth Monitors and c900 Event Duration Monitors (installation & spares) to be installed by the end of AMP8.

The contract was tendered in the following Lots:

• Lot 1a Supply/repair of Sewer Depth Monitors (Trunk)
• Lot 1b Supply/repair of Sewer Depth Monitors (Network)
• Lot 2 Supply/repair of Event Duration Monitors
• Lot 3 Installation and maintenance of Sewer Depth Monitors
• Lot 4 Installation and maintenance of Event Duration Monitors

Framework contracts have been awarded to the following suppliers under each Lot as follows:

Lot 1a. Supply/repair of Sewer Depth Monitors (Trunk) and Lot 1b. Supply of Sewer Depth Monitors (Network) – approx £17. 992 million including VAT

Earliest date the contracts will be signed is 1 April 2026 – current estimated start and end contract dates are 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029 with further possible extension options up to 31 March 2034.

Initial start and end dates when the contract first went out to tender in April last year were 27 October 2025 to 27 October 2028 with possible extensions up to 26 October 2033
