Anglian Water tenders major £360 million AMP8/9 contract for Mechanical, Electrical & DSEAR Services

Anglian Water has gone out to tender with an AMP8/9 contract for Mechanical, Electrical & DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations) services with a total estimated value of £360 million (including VAT).

Current estimated start and end contract dates are 21 August 2026 to 31 March 2035. Current estimated award decision date is 10 August 2026.

The water company is looking to put a new framework agreement in place for the provision of planned and reactive maintenance and engineering services, namely the Mechanical, Electrical and DSEAR Services Framework.

The framework will support the delivery of asset maintenance strategies (planned and reactive work) in addition to lower complexity/value capital projects and programmes of mechanical and electrical work across the whole of the Anglian Water region. The framework has an estimated total annual throughput of up to 3000 jobs and projects.

The framework will be awarded to multiple suppliers to ensure sufficient capability and capacity is mobilised to deliver the full scope of services required to meet the anticipated demand for AMP8 and AMP9.

Suppliers must be able to provide both Mechanical & Electrical Services for higher value project/parcels of higher complexity and criticality.

The contract is being tendered in the following Lots:

  • Lot 1. Projects & Parcels £122 million including VAT
  • Lot 2. Mechanical Maintenance Provision of Mechanical Maintenance Services £148 million including VAT
  • Lot 3. Provision of Electrical Maintenance £70 million including VAT
  • Lot 4. DSEAR Provision of DSEAR services £22 million including VAT
