Northern Ireland Water has gone out to tender with a contract for M and E, Electrical and ICA, Installation, Repair and Maintenance services with an estimated total value of £64.8 million (including VAT).

The water company is looking to appoint a contractor to provide M and E Services with Electrical and ICA, Installation, Repair and Maintenance services for the full range of manufacturer’s equipment currently within NI Water’s asset base.

The contractor will be responsible for providing the necessary skilled and unskilled labour together with the materials to carry out the work in accordance with the specification, statutory regulations and to the satisfaction of NI Water.

Current estimated start and end contract dates are 11 April 2027 to 10 April 2030, with further possible extension options up to 10 April 2034. Estimated contract award decision date is currently 1 October 2026.

The contract will replace the following existing NI Water contract: C1100 – Electrical, ICA, Installation, Repair and Maintenance. The current C1100 contract has 2 contractors delivering the services across all NI Water sites across all of Northern Ireland and was not split into Lots. The current contract has delivered a similar range of goods and services to those listed in the tender.

The upcoming contract is being tendered in two separate Lots on a geographical basis:

• Lot 1. EICA Services - North West (£32.4 million inc VAT)
• Lot 2. EICA Services - South East EICA Services (£32.4 million inc VAT)

Deadline for submission of enquiries about the tender is 26 June 2026 at 11:59pm and tender submission deadline is 12:00pm on 3 July 2026.

NI Water intends to appoint a single supplier for each Lot, up to a maximum of one Lot per supplier.
