Severn Trent Water thas gone out to tender with an AMP8 framework contract for the supply, delivery and storage of propane gas with an estimated value of £10 million including VAT.
Scope of the tender includes:
- propane supply, delivery, tank hire and associated infrastructure
- telemetry
- storage and transfer equipment
- maintenance, repairs and emergency response
- mobilisation
- supplier switching support
- sustainability requirements
- contract management and associated commercial services
Severn Trent Green Power Ltd (STGP) has similar operational requirements and intends to coordinate its tender exercise alongside Severn Trent’s - STGP's requirements will be clearly identified as separate.
Current estimated start and end contract dates are 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2031, with a further possible extension option to 31 December 2036. Estimated contract award decision date is 1 December 2026.
The contract is being tendered on a site by site basis in a number of Lots, with the same common requirements for each:
- Supply propane gas and maintain agreed minimum tank levels, supported by telemetry monitoring and delivery planning.
- Supply of tanks and related equipment.
- Annual maintenance of tanks and related equipment.
Different quantities of tanks required under each Lot are as follows:
- Lot 1. Site 1A - supply of 5 tanks
- Lot 2. Site 1B - supply of 1 tank
- Lot 3. Site 2 - supply of 3 tanks
- Lot 4. Site 3 - supply of 3 tanks
- Lot 5. Site 4 - supply of 3 tanks
The procurement process consists of a single-stage tender with two questionnaire elements:
- PQQ Pre-Qualification Questionnaire
- RFP Request for Proposal Questionnaire
Lot-specific solutions, delivery commitments, mobilisation, maintenance, service levels, emergency response and other scored commitments will be evaluated at the RFP stage.
