Scottish Water has awarded a contract for the supply of 2 new Nutrient Analysers for use in the lab with an estimated value of £504,000 excluding VAT.

Scope of the contract covers the kit itself, servicing and consumables.

Scottish Water Scientific Services is responsible for collecting and analysing water samples for regulatory compliance monitoring and operational purposes.

The laboratory is accredited to ISO17025, DWTS, MACS and ISO14001. The water company was looking to purchase nutrient analyser system(s) with appropriate detection for the analysis of Ammonia, Total Oxidised Nitrogen, Nitrite, Phosphate and Chloride in Drinking water, wastewater and other environmental matrices to meet the Scottish water regulations (same requirement as EU drinking water directive).

The contract has been awarded to Runcorn-based firm Metrohm UK Ltd, one of four companies who tendered for the work.
