Scottish Water tenders £100m water infrastructure contract

Scottish Water has gone out to tender with a contract worth up to £100 million for Tier 1 Delivery Partners to work on the water infrastructure for its upcoming Quality and Standards IV (Q&SIV) Capital Investment Programme.

The water company is looking to appoint a maximum of 8 Tier 1 contractors for the regulatory period 2015 to 2021, to acting as a strategic partner for Caledonia Water, Water Alliance Partner.

Scottish Water intends to award contracts under the framework in the following lots:

Lot 1 - Civil Engineering Works Tier 1 Delivery Partner (up to £50m)

Lot 2 - Clean Water Network Replacement/Rehabilitation Tier 1 Delivery Partner(up to £50m)

It is envisaged that 2-4 Tier 1 Delivery Partners will be awarded per lot.

Scope of works will include the design and construction, and construction only basis of works associated with clean water network assets. The support will cover works associated with new assets, renewals, modification, maintenance and refurbishment water networks.

Scottish Water is anticipating the possibility of putting advance works agreements in place prior to April 2015 with the Alliance Partner, subject to the agreement of regulators.

Subject to satisfactory performance, Scottish Water has the ability to extend all or part of the programme into the next regulatory period which covers 2021-2027

Delivery of works will be issued on a primarily project level, acting as a strategic partner for the Caledonia Water Alliance. Emphasis will be on market capacity to help supplement the Caledonia Water Alliance own self delivery capability for the delivery of clean water infrastructure.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 25th April.
