The leading online and print financial newspaper says the “embattled water supplier” will have incurred £1.6 billion in gross financing costs between April 2025 and the end of this month, alongside £235 million in “exceptional expenses” which include £253 million in advisory, legal and professional fees.

On 9th September Thames Water gained access to £230 million in further funding following the results of the 13th Consent Requests and STID Proposal the water company launched on 24 August 2026.

On 11 September 2026 the water company and its subsidiary Thames Water Super Senior Issuer plc announced the launch of a 14th set of parallel consent and waiver requests and a STID Proposal in relation to “certain intragroup arrangements in respect of group relief.”

No reference was made in the announcement with regard to the amount of any further funding the consents, if granted, would allow Thames Water to draw from the available facility.

The 14th Consent Requests and STID Proposal have a voting date of 25 September 2026. Voting may close earlier if the requisite majority of creditors vote in favour of the 14th Consent Requests and STID Proposal before the voting date.
