The House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee has today announced the launch of a new inquiry into the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) currently being negotiated between the EU and USA.
The Committee is inviting interested stakeholders to submit written evidence on the potential environmental impacts in the UK of the TTIP to the inquiry it is now undertaking, including:
- through changes to regulations and product standards and the operation of an ‘inter-state dispute settlement’ regime; and on
- the potential effects on developing countries.
Written evidence should ideally be submitted by 21 January, although the Committee says later submissions would also be accepted.
