Water industry regulator Ofwat has granted the first 20 Water and Sewerage Supply (WSSL) licences ahead of the business retail market opening for competition in April 2017.

The licences, which become effective on market opening, have been granted to the following companies:

• Water 2 Business Ltd   
• United Utilities Water Sales Ltd
• Sutton and East Surrey Water Services Ltd
• SSWB Ltd
• Severn Trent Select Ltd
• NWG Business Ltd
• Kelda Retail Ltd
• Clear Business Water Ltd
• Castle Water
• Anglian Water Business (National) Ltd
