The House of Lords Industry and Regulators Committee is continuing its inquiry into the relationship between regulators and economic growth, by hearing from policy experts with another live evidence session tomorrow beginning at 10am on Tuesday 11 November.

The Committee will hear from:
- Ben Ramanauskas, Senior Research Fellow, Policy Exchange;
- Anne Pardoe, Head of Policy, Citizens Advice.
Members are expected to ask questions on:
- what regulators can do to support growth;
- the key challenges and trade-offs between growth and other objectives which regulators have;
- the strengthening of the Growth Duty;
- the role the Government can and should play in encouraging regulators to accept more risk;
- the funding of additional resources which may be required by regulators;
- how wider changes in data, technology and AI are changing how companies and regulators operate;
- legislative or policy change needed to reduce regulatory burdens.
The Committee considers matters relating to industry, including the policies of His Majesty’s Government to promote industrial growth, skills, and competitiveness, and scrutinises the work of UK regulators.Chair is Baroness Taylor of Bolton is Chair of the Committee.
