Defra Secretary Emma Reynolds is set to face questions on Tuesday next week on a range of topics that the House of Commons Environment, Food and Rural Affairs EFRA Committee has examined in this Parliament.

MPs on the cross-party Committee are likely to ask the Secretary of State and senior officials at Defra as part of its ongoing inquiry into the work of the Department and its arm’s-length bodies about the following:

• Corporate leadership of water companies and the future of Thames Water
• The Farming Road Map, Environmental Land Management schemes and Sustainable Farming Initiatives
• Supply chain fairness, food security and prices
• Biosecurity and the forthcoming UK-EU sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) deal
• Support for the UK’s fishing sector
• Climate adaptation, including coastal erosion and wildfires

Other topics relating to the work of Defra and its arm’s-length bodies may also be raised.
