Seminar to address multi-€ billion EU water and eco-innovation funding opportunities

The James Hutton Institute in Dundee, in partnership with Scotland Europa and the Environmental Clean Technologies Partnership, is hosting a seminar next Thursday looking at EU funding opportunities in the field of water and eco-innovation.

Areas covered include EU funding opportunities for transnational collaboration under the current EU 7TH Framework Programme (FP7) which runs until 2013. The budget for FP7 during 2012 is €7 billion. Other EU funding opportunities to be covered include Life+ and Eco-innovation.

The seminar will also include a presentation by Jon Rathjen, Team Leader with the Scottish Government’s Water Industry Team on Scottish priorities and strategy under the Hydro Nation Agenda.

Parallel roundtable discussions in the afternoon will be in the format of short presentations around the water challenges faced by the different industry sectors, followed by an open discussion on the funding opportunities available and how EU collaborations can help tackle some of the identified challenges.

George Ponton, Research and Development Director at  Scottish Water will lead the Water, Wastewater, and Energy discussion.

SME companies interested in FP7 calls are particularly welcome to attend the event, which is free. Click here for further information.
